An amazing 24 hours for UK lung cancer advocacy
Patient advocate Jules Fielder and our own Rachel Avery met with Health Secretary Wes Streeting to push for better early diagnosis and awareness of lung cancer — from placing symptom information alongside cough medicine to expanding self-request chest X-ray programmes.
Just hours later, Jules and Rachel appeared on the ITV breakfast television show Good Morning Britain to help break the silence around lung cancer, challenge stigma and bring the lung cancer community together.
Because we are stronger when we speak out.
Lung cancer doesn’t discriminate. You don’t have to smoke to be affected. By sharing real experiences and challenging outdated misconceptions, we can change understanding and save lives.
In the last 24 hours, the conversation has started to shift. With people like Jules by our side, we’ll keep pushing it forward.
Truly, these are amazing times for lung cancer advocacy!
